Again it has been a long time since I have blogged. My excuse? I was busy... okay it is a terrible excuse but we will pretend like it is a good one. We had some wonderful holidays but Christmas was just so fun this year. I started listening to Christmas music early and making gifts and our stockings kept me very busy in December. I don't think Addison got what all was going on Christmas day but she enjoyed the new toys.

The box was also just as fun.

I was worried we were not going to have a white Christmas but Christmas eve it turned into a storm and we got snow. The wind blew it into huge drifts so we thought it would be fun to go play in the snow and show Addison what it is all about.

to be honest I don't think she was that impressed. She was also not a huge fan of the cat.
Christmas was great but I am pretty sure the best thing that happened since the last blog was, the  baby came!!!! and its a GIRL!!! Macy Utahna Hurst was born January 30, 2015 and if you remember from the last blog that was way past my due date, I wasn't very happy with her for a while there but I forgot all about it when she decided to come. She weighed 10 pounds 6 oz. which makes her the heavy weight champion on both sides of the family. Addison loves her most of the time, we had to teach her how to show affection the first day though, she kept hitting her and tried to rock her but not so gently. She has become much better and showing her love though.

They are such cute sisters and I am so grateful for my little family. They sure know how to wear me out but they are worth every minute.

It has been a few months since the last post so a lot has happened in our lives. We love living in a house and it has kept us very busy between regular maintenance and doing fun upgrades. Addison loves helping daddy with all the fun tools and watching him when I won't let her go outside with him.

We are expecting our second child January 24. We are not going to find out what the gender is and I am so excited however it is causing some problems in being prepared. For example if its a boy well he is going to have to wear girl clothes for a while. Also we have to pick out a name for both genders and so far we are not having any luck agreeing on a boys name good thing we still have two and a half months.
Addison has grown so much. She is starting to do some walking and has so much personality. Her favorite game is peek-a-boo even when no one is watching she will throw her blanket over her head.

She is into everything. I will leave drawers open for her in the kitchen while I cook. The other day she literally wanted to play in the pots and pan drawer.

A few weeks later Addi found herself stuck in the cabinet where we had taken out the drawers to fancy them up. She was not to happy about it. And after I had gotten the camera out I helped her out, she got herself stuck pretty good.
She is always up for a fun adventure and will do just about anything to find one.

In September we went to the aquarium with Doug's family. We had a really good time. Addi didn't care about most of it but every once in a while a fish would grab her attention. They have a lot of fun little places for kids to play and get a little more personal with the fish. Addi only did a few because it was packed but we made sure she did a few things like going in the fish bowl in reverse.

We also had the family Halloween party. We had so much fun playing all the games and the food was amazing. We dressed up as a nursery rhyme. Addison was the cat with the fiddle, I was the cow and my belly was the moon that the cow jumped over, and Doug was the dish and the spoon. We had a lot of fun being creative.
Then for Halloween we had a ward party so we decided that Addi needed to dress up again and since we had a dog costume as well we decided to switch it up. She was a pretty cute puppy.

And of course I can't forget Addison's first birthday. She didn't really get all the attention but we had a fun time doing fun things for her. Because kids always seem to like the box more then the toy inside of it, we decided to wrap a large box for her and let her unwrap it all day. She didn't do much with it unless I was there and showing her what to do but she did get most of it unwrapped by the end of the day.

Then both sets of grandparents and Jamie and Jeremy came over for dinner, cake and ice cream and presents. She was so cute unwrapping her presents, my favorite is when she unwrapped her doll she figured out what it was and was too excited to get the rest of the paper off, she just kept pulling on the arm.

She has had lots of cake and ice cream in her days so she knew what to do but that does not mean she skipped the mess.

We are so grateful for her in our lives and for the joy she brings us. It has been such a fun year with her and I have loved watching her grow. I wish she would slow down but that's not the way it works so I guess I will hold on to her the best I can.
And because the picture is funny here is Addison with Bigfoot.

We have been loving our new house. We can do yard work all the time and Addison loves being outside so it has been perfect. All the room we have is also fantastic. Addison is growing so fast, I can hardly stand it, she is learning so much right now and as always gets into everything. She goes on all sorts of adventures. The other day I just watched her crawl up on her rocking horse and stand on the seat.
She was pretty proud of herself. She loves that rocking horse though.
She has also become my vacuum cleaner. Doug was just telling me the other day that when she likes something on her plate she will purposefully drop some so that she can eat it later. I probably should vacuum more but if I tried to keep up with her mess I would be vacuuming all day long.

The other day I put Addison in the back of Doug's truck. She loved it back there, I don't think I have ever seen her stay in one place where there was hardly anything to do but she liked standing against the side.
Eventually she found some of dad's tools. She is definitely going to be daddy's little helper some day.
Of course I don't think any of our lives would be complete if Doug didn't try to bug her every once in a while. He has fun with it, I think it makes for great pictures and she thinks its fun...

most of the time, this time she was able to crawl out so she thought it was pretty great.
We love our little family and enjoy being able to spend time together.
