What a summer! I was sick for most of it and would drag myself around the best I could so I wouldn't get cabin fever and so the girls would have fun. I did a pretty good job considering.

The girls did get creative in finding their own entertainment though.

We did a ton of swimming, sometimes we would get creative with that too just because we could. We also got to go to Jensen's Grove a couple times with my family and Doug and I took the girls to a couple different swimming pools this year because they actually liked the deep water and had so much fun.

We also got to go to the zoo in Idaho Falls with my sister and mom. My girls are afraid of animals but I thought that with the glass between them we would be totally fine. HA I should have known better. They did like it but they still had to keep their distance in some places.

Then came the fair. We went to the parade on Monday and the first horses we were pulling carriages and Macy just about lost it. Then we saw horses that had riders and I don't know if she got used to them or if it made her feel better that they had riders but she started to like them. Then we went to the rodeo the next day and she started jumping up and down when she saw the first horsey she was so excited. Addison spent most of the rodeo with aunts and uncles so we were told that she really liked it and was paying attention to the whole thing. Again it was a distance thing because the next day we took them to see the animals and Macy didn't like when we got her out of her stroller but sat there cowing in fear and Addison wouldn't let Doug put her down. Oh well guess we keep trying to teach them that animals are nice, it makes it kind of hard though when mom is almost as afraid as they are though, I am conquering my fear for them though. I think their favorite part of that night was the four wheelers and tractors though we had to peel them off when it was time to go and they weren't even moving.

We have had a pretty great summer and watching these girls grow up  has been so fun. They are learning so much each day. Here are a few more pictures just for your enjoyment.

A couple of weeks ago Addison, Macy and I got to go to Great Falls with my mom to see my Grandparents. It has been such a long time since I have seen them and even longer since I have been to their house. It was a very last minute decision but it worked out pretty good and I am so glad that I got to go. I had to take a picture of my favorite part of the drive because how often can you say you saw a sleeping giant in the mountains.
Of course we went garage saleing it wouldn't be Grandma's house if we didn't. The girls didn't love that part but they loved playing with the fun new toys. Macy didn't want anything to do with Grandma and Grandpa but I can't say that I am surprised. Addison did pretty good. Grandma wanted my mom to help her plant her flowers so of course the whole time we were there it rained and was cold, but that didn't stop them. The girls and I went out with them and Addison and Macy loved playing in the rain.

Macy had a ball playing in puddles and getting soaked. Addi didn't want to go out in the rain without her umbrella. They had so much fun but they got cold pretty quick. We sure missed Doug and I know he missed us but I am so glad we got to visit my Grandparents.

Well Burley has decided that maybe it should be spring time. Every couple of days we get beautiful warm weather and the girls and I get to go outside and enjoy it, followed by several days of cold and rain. I was telling Doug how I wanted the warm weather to stay and quit teasing me but he wisely pointed out that he would rather have the teasing warm days then constant rain so I am determined to follow his example and enjoy the beautiful days. We have been on several bike rides, thank goodness Macy likes the bike trailer this year.
The girls and I stopped by storybook park the other day for the first time this year. They both get nervous in new public places so unlike the other moms there I get to play on the cool slides and things because that is the only way my girls will do anything. They love crawling through tunnels and going down the slide but I discovered Macy's favorite thing to do is swing. She giggles and smiles and when you try to get her out she shakes her head and sometimes screams.

We love the warm weather and hope that it will decide to stick around for a while soon. Here are some random pictures of my funny little girls for your enjoyment.

We had the craziest weather the other day. We woke up and there was at least 4 inches of snow on the ground. It snowed all day long. We ended up with about a foot of snow. It was a good thing Doug didn't have to go to work because I had to go visiting teaching and my van could not have made it out of the drive way, there were tree limbs broken on the street and huge branches hanging right in the way of the windshield. It was pretty crazy. It was perfect snow for building a snowman too. We all got dressed up to take advantage of our snow day. Even Doug took a break from his work in the house to play with us girls. Of course we wanted to build a snowman, Macy hated every minute of being in her too small snow suit and Addi didn't last long in pushing the huge snow balls but at least she was still having fun. We got a pretty big snowman.

We had a lot of fun with the snow. I know I have said crazy a lot but one more time another crazy thing is that two days later all of the snow was gone and the grass is green and its beautiful, I am sure glad we had it to play in but it is a good thing that it is gone.

We have been loving this weather. Well most of it anyway. The girls love going outside and playing. Mostly in the dirt, I don't know what we are going to do when all of the flower beds are planted.

Its even been nice enough to entice Doug and I to be kids again and play with chalk.  We got a lot of comments on our artwork as people walked by it was kind of fun, too bad the rain took it away.

We went to the canyon one day to enjoy the weather and have a picnic. We played on the swings and went down to the water. Macy was not scared at all she sat down and was climbing off the dock as soon as we got there. I think she would have gone all the way in if I had let her, or maybe she felt how cold the water was and changed her mind.

It has been so fun to go outside and play again. It keeps the girls occupied for hours.

Well here is to catching up on the blog. We went to Hogle zoo in September and then the girls and I met my sisters and went to bear world some time in the fall (I can't remember what month now). So here is a combined blog.
We had been looking forward to going to the zoo for a long time so when we found a free weekend we decided to take a family trip and do it. I am so glad we did. Our first adventure started about the time we got into Salt Lake traffic. We had stopped at Kent's for doughnuts for breakfast, delicious as always, but our timing wasn't all that great. About the time we hit Salt Lake both girls started crying, Macy because she was hungry and Addi I thought was just tired. Turns out Addi gets car sick often and of course our first experience with it was on the way to a fun day. Poor girl had to sit in breakfast for a long time. Any ways we got to the zoo and got cleaned up and fed and all was well again. Addison loved seeing the animals and making their sounds. Macy could have cared less about the animals but was thrilled to death to be outside. They also had their robotic dinosaurs out, some of them just made sounds and others sprayed water. Addi was really scared of all of them but it was really hot and the water felt so good so we made her stay closer then she wanted so we could all get cooled off. We also went to the bird show. It was so cool and all the birds flying right over your head it was really cool. I really enjoyed the whole experience and can't wait to go again.

We also got to go to bear world with my sisters. We squished as many people as we could into a couple of cars so the kids could be together and drove through the park a couple of times. The kids loved all of the animals and the bears got so close to us it was so much fun. Addi was in the back of the car with the bigger kids having the time of her life and roaring at the bears. Macy again didn't care so much about the animals so she didn't have as much fun when we were in the car. Then there were rides that we all went on. I think the little train was the favorite, they all wanted a turn in the front so they could ring the bell.

There was also a petting zoo with ducks and chickens and goats, and pigs and deer. The deer kept biting every one's shirt. Addi was pretty wary of all of the animals, but me being the mean mom that I am made her pet them, she wasn't friendly with them after that but she was a little better when they got close.

We had a really fun time looking at animals and being with family. I am so grateful for the chance we have to do these things and the loved ones we have to do them with.
