I can't believe I didn't blog about Christmas, all the snow we have been playing in and Macy's birthday... OK I can believe it but I am sad that it has taken me this long. It's been awhile so I will let the pictures do most of the talking.
We had a lot of fun for Christmas, we did our best not to rush ourselves and we had a really good day as a family, we were all pretty spoiled.

Macy had to hand us every piece of paper she tore off and the whole box had to be free of paper. It took awhile.

When Addison opened Anna she immediately ran into the other room saying where is my Elsa then when she found her she had them dance and sing together, it was pretty cute.
Macy got an alphabet toy and would hardly open her other presents when she finally would she had to have it sing before she would start unwrapping.

We got a ton of snow this winter. In one day we got about a foot, I thought it was pretty fun.

Doug had a few days off because of the weather which was nice. Doug and our neighbor borrowed the skid loader to move all the snow, and Doug and Addison built a slide out of the pile of snow. She loved it and used it every time she went outside, which she asked to do often. Macy however is completely content to stay inside where it is warm. Most of the time we would get all dressed and go out and the next thing I know Macy is standing at the door crying because she can't get in. We did eventually get her to like it and she would stay out a little longer. Doug helped Addison build several snowmen though and she loved every minute of it.

We also celebrated Macy's second Birthday. We kept telling her she was turning two but she would grin and shake her head when she said two. We finally got her convinced that it was her birthday and she is two. Of course we had to have a monkey cake, its her favorite animal. We are so grateful this little girl is in our life to constantly keep us smiling.

We have had a great time this winter and I am kind of sad all that snow is gone but winter isn't over so maybe we will get a little more so I can go play with the girls. These girls always keep me on my toes and always have me smiling. I love the time I get to spend with them and I am so grateful for the blessings they are in my life.

This last week was pretty crazy. Not only did we have Halloween and the parties that went with it but we also had Addison's and Doug's birthdays. Addison has been talking about her Happy Birthday for awhile now so when the day finally came she was one happy little girl. She had gotten to do a couple special things with her grandma's a couple of days before my mom gave her some shoes and I think the only reason she ever took them off was because I made her for bed time. Doug's mom took her shopping and she was so excited to show us the things she got. On her birthday we had errands to run so the day wasn't too fun for her but Grandma and Grandpa Hurst came over for dinner and we had a little party for her. The night before Doug took her shopping to pick out her ice cream and pizzas so she was pretty excited for her special pizza. She was so cute opening her presents, she was very good to let Macy help her and got more and more excited as the presents got better.

Not the best of pictures but they still tell a lot. She even let Macy wear her new night gown and they started dancing and singing. The part she had been waiting for all week was cupcakes though. I asked what she wanted for dinner the day before and she told me cupcakes it took awhile for us to get to the point where she understood she needed to pick a real food and she would get cupcakes. Of course she wanted pink and princess cupcakes so I did my best even though I am not a cake decorator but princess cupcake liners and the cupcakes in the shape of a dress that was pink made her pretty happy.

All in all I think she had a pretty good birthday and I am so glad I get her in my life.

Then Doug's Birthday was on Sunday. I had the primary program so he got the girls all to himself during sacrament, I think he enjoyed it. We didn't do anything too special he had meetings and home teaching to do but we did make his favorite dinner and I finally tried a batman cake ( I have been wanting to make him one for awhile) again I am not a cake decorator but at least he could tell what it was supposed to be. I put in the trick candles that keep lighting themselves so after the girls weren't scared of the sparks anymore, they had plenty of chances to help blow them out. It was a good thing we didn't have smoke detectors because the house was pretty smokey by the time they finally got them out.

After the girls gave him his birthday present they thought it was fun to get in the big bag and be his birthday present... the bag didn't last too long.

We are so grateful for Doug and all that he does for our family. I know the girls love him so much and I couldn't have asked for better.

So I don't know if we have just been really busy or if we were really good at putting things off this last month but I feel like Halloween was stuffed into a week. We had the Hurst family party on the Saturday before Halloween and had so much fun. All the games and food and being with family is so fun. Our game this year was a hit. We got pumpkins for each family and carved them, only with power tools. We even used a paint mixer to gut it. It was pretty fun and there was pumpkin flying everywhere. We gave prizes for the fastest and the cutest. The Toone family carved their pumpkin in 1 min 39 seconds, the longest one took just over 5 minutes... it also won cutest. But for as little time as it took I think they all turned out really cute, makes me wonder why we take so long to carve normal pumpkins.

Then Halloween came. We had picked our family pumpkins the week before or something like that. We had gone to the pumpkin patch after work one night and picked out one for each girl. They had a Halloween trail with games and prizes. They had fun games but it was dark already and a cat wanted to play with the girls so they mostly wanted held and Addi kept saying she wanted to go home. I really have to do something about this fear of cats. Anyways Doug didn't get home till about 6:30 on Halloween night so the girls were dressed and ready to go trick or treating when he got home. Both girls liked getting makeup Macy didn't need any for her costume but she was excited so I put some on her anyways. Addi might have been in her costume all day or at least so kind of princess dress all day so getting her ready was easy. Macy was less then thrilled to be in a princess dress.

I love this picture, it reminds me of when Rapunzel leaves her tower and is laying in the grass face down saying how terrible she is for leaving. Any way she finally got used to the dress and we had no more problems after that.

When we got home from trick or treating we had some dinner and then got to carve our pumpkins. Addison refused to stick her hand in and gut it but liked helping pick what kind of face it needed and carving.
Macy on the other hand was hesitant to gut it but she finally did. Then she made a few cuts with me and was done.

They turned out pretty cute though and the girls loved seeing them all lit up.

It was a fun Halloween and the girls really enjoyed themselves.... and the candy.
